Bus from Brighton to Seven Sisters
Coastal bus services connect Brighton with the A259 through Saltdean, Newhaven, Seaford, Exceat and Eastbourne. Routes and frequencies change, so use the operator’s live journey planner on the day rather than relying on an old route number copied into a blog.
Train from Brighton
A train can take you from Brighton to Seaford or Eastbourne, but neither station is at the cliffs. From Seaford, continue by bus or taxi to Exceat, or walk only if you have planned a proper route. Taxi from Brighton to Seven Sisters
A pre-booked taxi removes the station or bus change and is especially useful when the weather is uncertain, when travelling with children or older visitors, or when you want to start and finish a walk at different places.
Return waiting trip
Agree the visit length and return location in advance. Waiting must be included in the confirmed booking.
Drop-off and later pickup
Useful for longer walks. Mobile signal can be weak, so agree the exact place and time before setting off.

Cliff and river safety
No cliff-edge selfies
Use zoom or a safer inland viewpoint. The photograph is never worth the fall risk.
Do not cross the river mouth
The Cuckmere river mouth can have dangerous fast-flowing water. Follow the designated route.
Check tide and weather
Beach access, waves, wind, fog, heat and heavy rain can transform the trip.
Keep dogs controlled
Use leads around livestock and near cliff edges, and follow signs in the Country Park.
Walking routes
