Which council licences do you accept?

We welcome appropriately licensed drivers and vehicles from Lewes District Council, Brighton & Hove City Council and Mid Sussex District Council, subject to document verification, operational approval and the work being legally compatible with the licence held.

Can Sussex Airports Taxis issue my driver licence?

No. Driver and vehicle licences are issued by the relevant local authority. Complete the council process first, then register with us for verification and approval.

Do I need hire & reward insurance?

Yes. Your vehicle must have valid insurance covering the private hire or taxi work you carry out, together with all other documents required by your licensing authority.

Can I join before my council application is finished?

You may review our information, but you cannot undertake bookings until the required driver and vehicle licences, insurance and checks are valid and we have approved your registration.

Is work or income guaranteed?

No. Booking opportunities depend on customer demand, location, availability, suitability and operational requirements. Registration does not guarantee work, hours or earnings.

Can I drive part-time?

Approved drivers may choose their availability, subject to booking demand, licence conditions and our operational requirements.
